On your journey, you will move from the state of Mato Grosso to the state of Pará. Then you will be welcomed at the Pousada Thaimaçu, a prime sportfishing lodge nestled in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon basin. You will be greeted by your guide and lodge manager who will help you get situated into your room. The lodge itself provides comfort and service not easily found in these remote areas. Located on the river São Benedito, the lodge offers you all the comforts necessary for a fantastic stay.
Rooms with private bathrooms, cold/hot water showers, air conditioning, fridge (stocked with cold drinks), laundry service and spacious verandas. The lodge has a very adequate and spacious restaurant for socializing a small store with equipment, accessories, a satellite phone and everything else needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. It is a self-sufficient resort with agriculture, cattle, honey bees, and a generator that powers the whole complex.
Three complete meals are served daily, offering fantastic food and in large quantities. The meals generally consists of fish, beef or chicken, vegetables, fruit, bread, and, of course, rice and beans. Dessert is some of the most unique and flavorful we have ever tasted, with dishes such as passion fruit mousse or guava pudding. A variety of drinks are offered, including soft drinks, beer, and plenty of mineral water.
Besides the São Benedito River, clients have the opportunity to stay a couple of days in one of the two campsites of the Cururu River. This is a region with distinct natural characteristics to those of the São Benedito.
Cururu and Curururi campsite - tributaries of the Teles Pires river, are two options for fishing in the Thaimaçu. Rivers of crystalline waters and preserved vegetation guarantee a great quantity of fish. The accommodation is simple. It sleeps up to 10 people and offers a rustic but very cozy comfort.
