The flats of Long Island are almost all wading flats - nice hard bottom white sand for the most part.  Bonefish will average 3 pounds, with fish up to 13 pounds.  It is certain you will get shots at 8-10 pound fish if you stay a few days.  Permit are available as well in good numbers, not too many tarpon but a few!

Long Island fishing is year round due to the presence of a major current stream, the North Equatorial Current, which originates in the Canary Islands and washes the shores of Long Island, transporting huge schools of Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Rainbow Runners, Yellow Fin Tuna, Black Fin Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo.  This, plus being one of the more southern Bahamas Islands means we have more consistent fishing in the winter than most other Bahamas destinations.

Our guides fish out of a brand-new 2007 Maverick Mirage (17'), powered by a 90 hp four-stroke Yamaha outboard engine. and a 2001 Hewes Bonefisher (16'), equipped with a 90 hp Yamaha outboard engine, is constantly kept in a first-class appearance and working condition - both of these boats meeting all of the requirements of the Bahamas Bonefishing Safety Regulations.
